How do we pick the Symposium theme every year?
It comes to us in meditation. Last year it was obvious the Symposium had to be about "therapy."
Yoga Therapy-Pilates Therapy-Healing: that is what our country and people needed.
This year the inspiration came when I was sitting in nature meditating,
feeling that nature has a harmony, a special beauty that feels good to us.
Like a fresh creek that flows on in the dark, to quote the ancient Zen Buddhist text, Sandokai.
We are part of that flow. When we are conscious and aware we realize that the water flows.
But when we are not conscious and aware, the water still flows, we just don't realize it.
This is how it goes with ethics.
When we are not aware of the inner harmony that exists and go against the flow, our life does not feel right.
When we remain sensitive and aware, then we align with this inner flow and life feels good. The world becomes a place of joy and celebration.
This is what I wanted everyone to feel and realize. This is the celebration I would like to invite all of you "spiritual seekers" to.
